Au2, Jarrah Honey - Eucalyptus marginata (Jarrah flower)
The honey
Jarrah is known for its high antimicrobial activity, rich antioxidant content, and distinctive caramel-like flavour. The WA industry has trademarked Jarrah honey and are in the process of getting it certified around the world to protect the intellectual property, credibility of any claims and add value to the resource for WA beekeepers and future generations.
The Beekeeping
Produced in the Dwellingup region of South Western Australia. Jarrah honey is a premium monofloral honey sourced from the Jarrah tree (Eucalyptus marginata), which is native to Western Australia. The Jarrah forest is the main source of the premium honeys collected in Western Australia and its pollen is vital for the ongoing health of the bees. It is currently under threat from climate change, over development, fires and mining.
