Cl4, Endemic monofloral Cryptantha Dichita 75%
The honey
This honey boasts a soft flavor and a creamy crystallization. Harvested in the summer month of January, it primarily comes from the endemic monofloral of Cryptantha dichita (75%), with organic certification.
The flora thrives in the Atacama Desert mountain range at a high-altitude of 2500 meters, where it produces nectar under conditions of extreme dryness. Alongside Cryptantha dichita, other floral sources like chañar, carob, bell pepper and molle contribute to its profile. Notably, this honey exhibits high antibiotic properties as per an antibiotic profile analysis conducted at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Its uniqueness in both the region and the world stems from its particular desert flora and its origin as a desert floral honey. The Beekeeping
This honey is obtained in the rugged Atacama Desert mountain range, amidst the picturesque town of Alto del Carmen in Chile’s Atacama region, through organic beekeeping practices.
Augusto Larrain is a seasoned beekeeper with 25 years of experience, specialized in managing beehives organically in this challenging yet fascinating landscape. The Atacama Desert poses significant challenges like scarce water, and extreme climate with sweltering daytime temperatures and chilly nights. Even though, it’s home to a remarkable variety of endemic species that produce nectar under these demanding conditions. Enjambre: enjambreapicultura.cl
