DK1, Spring honey from the danish countryside
The honey
This honey is a traditional danish spring honey. It is light, mild and has a nice spreadable consistency. We haven't had it analyzed this year but normally the nectar sources are mainly dandelion, rapeseed (canola), stonefruits, horse, chestnut and white thorn.
This spring honey won the WBA trophy as the Worlds Best Honey at the Apimondia in Istanbul in 2017. In Denmark honey is mostly being consumed on a piece of white bread in the morning. When Danes get a cold or a sore throat, they often make a drink with hot milk and honey. The traditional danish cake with honey is called "Honningkage" or Honeycake. Here is a link to a good recipe (it's in danish, but most browsers today translate very well) The beekeeping
We are two friends having the bees together as a hobby. We have around 15-20 hives in 3 apiaries. We are also part of the organizing team for the Apimondia 2025 and have basically spent time since 2017 dreaming of and thinking of the upcoming Apimondia congress in Copenhagen.
At the moment, we are busy organizing the Global Honey Bar and we look immensely forward to the event. www.youtube.com/@LarsogZofuz
