DK6, Heather, Black Bee Medieval Honey
The honey
I run my beekeeping in the middle of Jutland with the original wild honey bee, the European Black Bee - in Denmark we call it the Brown Bee.
I have four small apiaries spread throughout the area plus a mating area on the island of Hjarnø. I am a member of the Association for Brown Bees in Denmark which is trying to spread knowledge of the original honey bee and to get it a permanent place in the nature restoration projects that are being established in Denmark in recent years. The beekeeping
The honey presented here is specially made for a large medieval festival held annually in the town of Horsens.
It is fresh heathland honey, it's freshly pressed, two weeks before the festival to give visitors the impression of completely fresh honey. Water content a little more than 18. It is presented in a special jar with a special label (however, it is supplemented with a smaller standard label from the Danish Beekeepers Association, which makes the honey traceable).
