The honey

This dandelion honey is bright yellow with a smooth, buttery sweetness, featuring hints of dry herbs and chamomile, and an intense animal-like scent that fades upon tasting. Harvested in late spring to early summer, it has a water content of 17% and is commonly used in daily consumption, especially on bread or in gourmet dishes.

The Beekeeping

Bjørn Reidar Larsen, a certified beekeeper, runs Farmeren in the heart of Ryfylke, with hives spread across Hjelmeland, Strand, and Forsand, producing raw, untreated honey that reflects the region’s pure natural environment. This honey is made by the Nordic brown bee, considered to be the original honeybee species in the Nordic countries.
