Summer 2025: Silver Fir honeydew honey
The beekeeping
We're a family run business that holds the traditional art of beekeeping through four generations. Established in 1929 when our great grandfather set up our first apiary of around forty beehives, we now have upwards of two-hundred beehives with happy, healthy bees.
Our apiary is in a small village in the south-eastern part of Slovakia and our beehives are situated in picturesque surroundings at the foot of an Wild Cherry hill near a small river called Ondava. During the summer months we move the beehives to mountainous areas when the flowers are just starting to bloom and aphids start to produce honeydew. This ensures the bees enjoy ample harvest throughout the year and stay fit. |
