The honey
Eucalyptus trees are not indigenous to South Africa. This Australian native species provides some of the most important foraging for South Africa’s two sub-species Honey Bees namely Apis mellifera scutellata and Apis mellifera capensis, or the Capensis Honey Bee.
This Yellow Box eucalyptus honey is an exceptional harvest showcasing intense aroma and flavour. It is a light, golden hue honey which is slow to granulate. The nose is animal, broth and buttery hot fudge notes. The warm lactic aroma develope into a symphony of milky fudge and butterscotch aroma on the palate. Despite the intensity of the flavour it is a medium sweet honey which is truly irresistibly delicious. The finish wraps up with hints of dry hay and wet soil before the melted buttery notes announces the end. The mouthfeel is luxurious, velvety and leaves a buttery mouthfeel followed by salivating as your senses lures you in for one more taste!
