Sw4, Honey from Haga Palace
The honey
The honey is extracted on July 22, 2025.
Honey type/nectar sources: 57 % Linden tree (Tilia sp), HDE-honey dew: 0,33. Water content: 17 %. The Beekeeping
In 2010, the Crown Princess Couple received beehives as a wedding gift from the Swedish Beekeepers Association. The hives were placed in a sheltered grove near Haga Palace, where the bees can forage freely across nectar-rich meadows and woodlands, with access to fresh water from nearby Brunnsviken.
The first honey is traditionally harvested around midsummer. In a typical year, the four colonies produce between 80 and 100 kilograms of honey. The honey is sold in the Royal Castle Shop, with all proceeds supporting the Crown Princess Couple’s Foundation, which promotes good health and fosters a sense of community among children and young people in Sweden. |
