TZ6, Miombo Honey from Jambo Asali
The honeyMiombo honey, harvested around June to August during the dry season, is a rich, dark amber honey sourced from the diverse floral species of the Miombo woodlands primarily Brachystegia, Julbernardia, and Isoberlinia trees. This wild, multifloral honey is known for its deep flavor, medicinal properties, and long shelf life. With a typical moisture content of 16–18%, it is naturally low in water, making it ideal for both consumption and preservation. Traditionally, Miombo honey is used in Tanzanian communities for wound healing, treating coughs and digestive issues, and as a natural sweetener in local herbal teas and fermented drinks.
